Today I learned that even though non-fish pets aren't allowed in the building where I work, and my job includes enforcing the rules of the building, the appearance of a man carrying a lapdog will so flummox me that I will not be able to immediately request that he keep the animal outside.
My momentary shock will be just long enough for him to enter the building unmolested, and I will lose track of him and have to hunt him down later.
Darn it all.
Today I learned that there is such a thing as TwinsFest.
The guy who sometimes plays his guitar in the skyway on West Bank is Jerry Rau.
He has CDs. I put twenty dollars in his guitar case and took one, because whenever I hear him, I always feel a little happy and a little sad and a little homesick.
Today I learned that winning a tennis match entails winning at least two sets, each of which entails winning six games, each of which must be won by at least two points.
Intrigued by this information, I also learned that the longest tennis match ever was only about six hours, which was considerably shorter than I was expecting.
The invention of paper is credited to Ts'ai Lun, around 100 AD (although evidence of paper older than this has been discovered by archaeologists).
